CAN driver : At the beginning, CanFestival did only work with Linux 2.4. The low-level real-time enabled driver, Arbracan, did only support the Adlink PCI-7841 board. Arbracan, the original CanFestival CAN driver use RTLinux 3.2, and Linux 2.4 to achieve real time performance. It only support the Adlink PCI-7841 CAN board. Arbracan is hard to maintain. It still only support Linux 2.4 and Adlink Board, and is slowly deserted by users. Today, the CanFestival CanOpen stack can still be used with the old Arbracan driver. Nevertheless, the best way to work with the CanFestival CanOpen stack is to to bind it with an existing low level CAN driver. µC ports : An old port to C51 8b µC have been contributed by P. Christen. It is available in download section. The outdated CANopen SlaveLib from Raphael ZULINGER, which was the original CanOpen slave for CanFestival, is still available for PIC microcontrollers PIC18xx8 (with built-in CAN-controller). Tools : Another outdated CANopen tool from Raphael ZULINGER, a CanFestival QT GUI, is here..
